The National Union of Road Transport Workers has called on members across the country to exercise patience as the federal government will consider them in the palliatives for the fuel subsidy removal .
President, Care taker Committee of the Union, Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede made the call in Abuja during an emergency meeting with chairmen in the thirty Six States and FCT.
Alhaji Agbede said the government was already making consultations with stakeholders to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.
He maintained that all transport Union leaders should come together and work with the Care taker committee to move the nation’s transport sector forward.
According to him, Transport Workers are playing vital roles in the socio economic development of the country as the sector is providing job opportunities for over twenty million Nigerians.
The acting General Secretary of the committee, Mr kayode Agbeyegi said the Union would embark on reforms that will benefit and develop the transport sector.
The acting general secretary added that the union would embark on reconciliation among members across the six Geo political zones to carry them along in decision making process for unity and progress of the country.
