The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has affirmed commitment to the development of the steel sector, especially the completion of the Ajaokuta Steel Company project within the tenure of this administration.
Audu stated this while assuming office alongside his minister of state, Maigari Ahmadu in Abuja.
According to him, the focus of his administration would set a roadmap for the development of the steel sector, while aggressively pursuing the Ajaokuta steel project and facilitating the enactment of required bills to regulate the steel sector among others.
According to Audu the creation of the ministry underscores the mandate of President Tinubu, in pursuing the nation’s overall development through the sector.
On his part the minister of state Mines and Steel Development, Maigari Ahmadu said all efforts must be result-oriented and called on all staff to work to ensure the full realization of the set goals of the Tinubu administration in the steel sector.
Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mary Ogbe who welcomed the ministers said the mandate of the ministry is to develop the mineral resources of Nigeria and ensure that steel development is fully harnessed for the industrialization of Nigeria.
