Transfer Update: Atletico Spanish-born Nigerian striker

Atletico Madrid have signed 19-year-old striker Spanish-born Nigerian striker Samuel Omorodion from Granada.

The Spain under-19 international joins on a five-year contract as Atletico activated the striker’s buyout clause of six million euros ($6.5 million).

Omorodion, born to Nigerian parents, made his league debut for Granada in their season opener on 14 August against Atletico and scored the team’s goal in a 3-1 loss.

Atletico announced Omorodion’s signing in a statement released on their website.

PSV Gets Dest On Loan From Barcelona

USA international Sergino Dest has joined PSV Eindhoven on loan from Barcelona. 

PSV said the 22-year-old full back had joined on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

The full back has been named in their squad to face Rangers in a Champions League playoff first leg in Glasgow.

Dest was born in the Netherlands and started at Ajax before joining Barcelona in 2020.

He qualified for the United States through his father and has made 26 international appearances and was part of their squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Defender Stanisic Joins Leverkusen On Loan

Bayern Munich defender Josip Stanisic has joined Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen on a one-year loan deal.

The versatile 23-year-old Croatia international, who has a contract with Bayern until 2026

Stanisic was not in the squad on Friday for Bayern’s 4-0 win at Werder Bremen in their league opener.

Leverkusen are seen as likely title contenders this season.

Wahi Joins Lens From Montpellier

Young French Striker Elye Wahi has joined Ligue 1 side RC Lens from Montpellier HSC.

Wahi penned a five-year contract with last season’s runner-ups Lens.

Stade Bollaert-Delelis agreed a fee worth up to 35 million euros to bring the 20 year old over.

He scored 19 times in the top flight last term and arrives in northern France as a replacement for Belgium international Lois Openda, who moved to RB Leipzig last month.
