The Dean Faculty of Agriculture, University of Abuja, Professor Akeem Oyerinde has called on Nigerians to embark on agressive planting of trees to mitigate the effects of climate change in the Country.

Professor Akeem Oyerinde who was represented by John Galadima in the Faculty made the call at a tree planting Campaign organised by Rotary Club in Gwagwalada, Abuja to tackle global warming in the Country.

Mr Galadima also stressed the need for Nigerians to desist from deforestation and cultivate the habit of tree planting to curb flooding.

The District 9126 Governor of Rotary International, Mr Sani Ahmed represented by president of Gwagwalada Rotary Club, Mr, Ayodele Kehinde, while calling for Public – Pravite, partnership to mitigate the effects of global warming, explained that the over one thousand tree planting campaign in Gwagwalada become imparetive following the high temperature in the Area.

The Aguma of Gwagwalada, who was also represented by Mr, Bala Garba-Idanu pledged the support of the traditional institution to partner any organisation in bringing development in his domain and Nigeria at large.
