The House of Representatives says it will approve the new minimum wage once it is transmitted to the National Assembly by the President.
In a statement in Abuja, the spokesman of the House, Mr. Akin Rotimi lauded President Bola Tinubu’s announcement of the planned upward review of the national minimum wage.
Mr Rotimi says the decision will alleviate the adverse economic effects resulting from the removal of fuel subsidy.
According to Rotimi, the parliament empathizes with Nigerians who have been distressed due to the gap between the removal of the subsidy and the implementation of palliative measures.
He assures Nigerians that the House will effectively monitor all entities of government responsible for the deployment of palliative measures.
