The Federal Government has urged stakeholders in the power sector to place high priority to the capacity development of their personnel.
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Power Mr Temitope Fashedemi who gave the advice in Abuja at a forum tagged “HR Learning Hub” on transforming the power sector through people development said capacity building would address multiple challenges in the energy sector.
He stressed that producing competent personnel would bring about the needed power for socio economic development in the country.
According to him, the power industry remains a critical factor for sustainable development in Nigeria which the setback over a long period of years hindered the required progress for expected economic growth.
In a remark, the Executive Director, Transmission Commission of Nigeria, Justin Dodo said the forum was organized to enhance the Operation of personnel as part of efforts to make power more available for the citizens.
He noted that it was the collective efforts of skilled, empowered individuals to bring about the transformation in the power sector.
