The Network of Bayelsa Professionals (NBP) has called for more support for Governor Douye Diri in his quest to alleviate the hardship of the people of the state following the increase in the pump price of fuel.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by the spokesperson of the professionals, Mr Deinmobofa Tantua.
According to the statement, Governor Diri unveiled a new transport scheme for workers, students and the general populace in the state in a bid to reduce their sufferings occasioned by the increase in the pump price of fuel.
The statement says that over 100 taxi cabs and six luxury buses were unveiled by the Governor in Yenagoa as part of his administration’s palliative to ease the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.
It adds that the development will also help in creating jobs for the teeming youths in the state as over 100 youths would be engaged as drivers in the transport scheme.
According to the statement the concerned professionals, therefore called on the people of Bayelsa for more support for the governor especially on his re-election bid in order to do more for the people.
