The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS Major General Christopher Musa has reiterated the need to put in place regulatory control on mining activities in the Country to forestall security breaches.
This is contained in a statement by the Director, Defence Information,
Brigadier General Tukur Gusau in Abuja.
According to the statement, General Christopher Musa stated this when the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule paid him a visit at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
The statement noted that the CDS while appreciating the Governor for his support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria, and developmental initiatives for Nasarawa State, assured the Governor of the Armed Forces continuous support to ensuring peace and order in the State and the Country at large.
It further explained that Governor Abdullahi Sule while congratulating the CDS on his appointment appreciated the Armed Forces for providing adequate security to the State.
According to the statement, Governor Sule also called for proactive security measures in Nasarawa State given the discovery of Lithium deposit to avoid the Zamfara State experience.
