The House of Representatives has urged the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to collaborate with relevant stakeholders with the view to contain the outbreak of Anthrax disease in the country.
It also directed the National Commission for Disease Control NCDC, to put necessary measures in place to holistically stem the spread of the Bacteria.
This was the resolution of a motion under matters of urgent National importance moved by Mr. Adamu Tanko from Niger State at plenary.
In his lead debate, the Lawmaker said the disease might endanger the lives of humans with direct contact with animals or contaminated materials if not contained.
Ruling on the motion, Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu who presided over the session, mandated relevant committees of the House to urgently seek further legislative approach in curtailing the disease before it spreads.
