Aderogba Emerges President Rotary Club Abuja Garki Neighborhood

As the Rotary Club Of Abuja Garki Neighborhood commences a new calendar year today, the new President of the club, Rotarian Ade Aderogba has promised to execute key projects that will impact humanity positively within the next 12 months.

Rotarian Aderogba made the promise at a media conference while unveiling the 2023/2024 Rotary Calender year in Abuja.

He explained that the club, in line with the theme of the year which is “create hope in the world” would initiate projects along the seven focus areas of the club.

According to him, to promote peace, prevent diseases and conflict, the club will unleash strategies such as organizing symposiums and seminars, as well as support Government in providing primary health care infrastructure to reduce mortality rate in rural communities.

The New Garki Neighborhood Rotary Club President also disclosed that the club would collaborate with the Ministry of Health and Water Resources to promote good hygiene practices especially in rural areas with a view to preventing water borne diseases in children.

Presently our world has become a world of anxiety and uncertainty. Challenges like
climate change, economic upheavals, conflict and disease pandemics have brought us to
a crossroad where the threat of a worse future for humanity feels just as possible as
the promise of a better one, to create hope in the world to help the world heal
from destructive conflicts and in turn to help us achieve lasting change for ourselves.”

Rotarian Aderogba who further highlighted the adopted villages of the Club to include Chafuyi, Apo Abuja, and other communities, assured that the Neighborhood Rotary Club would not relent in ensuring disease free lives through
enlightenment on healthy living.

To reduce the increasing rate of out of school children, Rotarian Aderogba noted that Rotary Club of Abuja Garki Neighborhood would sustain its tradition of awarding scholarships to indigent students of JSS Garki Area 11 Abuja, and channel more energy to preserving the environment.

On her part, the immediate past President of the Club, Rotarian Zainab Omowunmi Owonikoko pledged the readiness of the club to continue to support the less privileged through empowerment and impact communities positively.

last Rotary year was a wonderful year. our club embarked on massive provision of economic empowerment materials such as grinding machines, sewing machines and start up capitals to scores of women whose stories have continued to bring joy. We came, we saw, we did our best, we served and we will continue to serve humanity. We have the confidence that the new President will do more. Rotary is a continuous club and Rotary Club Garki Neighborhood we remain a beacon of excellency”.
