Background

All is now set for the inauguration of the Rivers State chapter of the Grassroots Mobilisation Platform for Good Governance in Nigeria, a political support group rooting for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the National President, Comrade Paul Efe Osumiri and the National Publicity Secretary of the group, Chief Mathias Efe Olowu, in Abuja.

According to the statement, the inauguration marks a major step in strengthening grassroots engagement and enhancing public support for the policies and programmes of the Tinubu–Shettima administration.

The statement explains that the Rivers State chapter is expected to mobilise community leaders, youth groups, women organisations, and other critical stakeholders to deepen democratic participation across the state.

The statement notes that the platform has already established structures in several states, adding that the Rivers State inauguration will further consolidate ongoing nationwide mobilisation efforts.

It also states that key political leaders, civil society representatives, and members of the business community are expected to grace the event.

It reaffirms the group’s commitment to promoting good governance, unity, and national development, stressing that the newly inaugurated chapter will play a pivotal role in advancing these objectives at the local level.

The event is scheduled to hold in Port Harcourt, with organisers assuring that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a successful inauguration.
