The Chief Imam of Zone 3 Mosque, Abuja, Sheik Tajudeen Adigun Bello has advised the new Executives of Halal Cooperative Union to make honesty, transparency and financial discipline their watchwords towards actualizing the aims and objectives of the Union.
Sheikh Adigun Bello who is also the Chairman, FCT Council of Ulamas gave the advice in Abuja in his presentation during a Public Lecture on Leadership organized for the new leadership of Halal Cooperative Union which is a Union of Islamic Cooperative Societies in the Federal Capital Territory.
Correspondent Mathew Ayoola reports that at the end of the Public Lecture, Mr Abdulwahid Kolawole was unanimously elected as the Substantive President of the Union.

The public lecture on leadership was organized to provide guidance for members of Halal Cooperative Union who would pilot the affairs of the society towards realizing its objectives.
The Chief Imam of Zone 3 Mosque Abuja, Sheikh Tajudeen Adigun Bello who was the guest speaker centered his lecture on ethics, competence and community trust in Islamic stewardship.

Sheikh Adigun Bello highlighted the benefits of cooperative society and advised the new Executives of Halal Cooperative Union not to betray the confidence reposed in them by members of the society towards improving their welfare and financial standard.
In his acceptance speech, the new President of Halal Cooperative Union, Mr Abdulwahid Kolawole said a road map would be drawn towards actualizing the objectives of the Union.
While soliciting the support of members of the Union, Mr Abdulwahid Kolawole promised to carry everyone along in the running of affairs of the cooperative society.
Some members of Halal Cooperative Union who expressed confidence in the ability of the Executives to deliver stressed the need for them to lead with the fear of Allah and keep to the Islamic guidelines on cooperative society.
Halal Cooperative Union, a Union of Islamic Cooperative Societies in the Federal Capital Territory has its membership from the private and public sectors.
