APC Convention: SMEDAN DG Hails Tinubu On SME’s Devt

The Director General/CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, SMEDAN, Mr Charles Odii has commended President Bola Tinubu for the provision of two hundred billion naira for the development of small businesses in Nigeria.

Mr Charles Odii gave the commendation in his remarks during the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Eagles Square, Abuja.

The Director General said one million small businesses in the 36 States and the FCT have so far been impacted through the two hundred billion naira.

“Imagine each of these small businesses employing two people, that approximately means that two million jobs have been created in the last two years through the efforts of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration” the SMEDAN Boss explained.

“Mr President you also gave the approval and formalization of small businesses and right now, approximately two hundred and fifty thousand small businesses across the 36 States and the FCT are being formalized with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, at a low cost”.

According to Mr Charles Odii, this is the Administration where a son of nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody and that is what is being emulated and proven at SMEDAN.

“Because of you, Mr President, our small businesses are being sought after in the US, UK, Japan and it’s because of you, Mr President, that is why in SMEDAN, we have started to harmonize all of these benefits so that our small businesses can thrive” He stressed.

The Director General who commended President Bola Tinubu for providing funding for small businesses in the country further stated that the CNG imitative of the President has gone a long way in assisting operators of small businesses to move their products across the country with less cost implications.

“Our small businesses are grateful to you, Mr President and we’re not paying lip service to this and we’ll continue to thank you for all these and more and on behalf of millions of small business owners as well as other stakeholders in the sector, I want to sincerely thank and appreciate you for all you have done in repositioning the sector since assumption of office.”

While thanking President Bola Tinubu for appointing him at the age of 35, Mr Charles Odii promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him towards contributing to the actualization of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration in the area of SME’s and national economic development.
