Encomiums Pour As Leramoh Bows Out Of FCTA @60

todayMarch 27, 2026

Background

Civil servants have been urged to develop a mindset of service first by remaining humble and learning the rudiments of the civil service, as well as the tasks assigned to them at every phase of their careers.

Mallam Abdulrazaq Onivefu Leramoh gave this advice during his retirement ceremony, held in his honour at the age of 60, marking the end of a successful and meritorious career across various agencies of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

“My advice to those still in service and the upcoming generation is to put service first. Be efficient, dedication, discipline, commitment, and other virtues will follow,” Leramoh said.

He also called for the formation of an association of retired FCTA directors to serve as a platform where issues affecting the FCTA agencies can be critically examined through the lens of experienced professionals.

According to him, this would help ensure that ongoing reforms and developmental strides across agencies are sustained.

In his vote of thanks, Mallam Leramoh expressed deep appreciation to all the directors who organized the retirement celebration in his honour.

“I lack adequate words to express my feelings. I am excited, elated, and truly happy. I feel on top of the world seeing this multitude of friends, colleagues, and relations from far and near gathered to honour me,” he said.

Over the course of 32 years, Leramoh served across several Secretariats, Departments, and Agencies within the FCTA, building a strong reputation for diligence, discipline, and sound judgment.

He began his career with the FCT Area Council Service Commission. In 2007, he was posted to the Abuja Environmental Protection Board as Head of Administration and Supplies, where he served until 2013. He was later deployed to the Abuja Geographical Information System in the same capacity.

In 2016, he moved to the Department of Human Resources as Desk Officer for Appointments, and in 2018, he was posted to the Education Secretariat as Head of Administration.

In 2020, his distinguished service culminated in his appointment as Director of Administration and Finance for the Education Secretariat, a position he held until March 2024, when a restructuring of the FCTA led to the appointment of Permanent Secretaries.

In October 2024, he was posted to the Economic Planning, Revenue Generation, and Public-Private Partnership Secretariat as Director of Administration, a role he carried out with excellence until his retirement.

Mallam Abdulrazaq Onivefu Leramoh is a devoted husband and father. He is married to Hajiya Khadija Sadiq, and they are blessed with eight children four boys and four girls.

In a goodwill message, a retiree of 10 years, Mr. Mohammed Kabiru Gbadamosi who said it is a thing joy to retire successfully and in peace, congratulated Leramoh for leaving behind a legacy of impactful service.

“The retiree we are celebrating has helped many people. I urge those still in service and in positions of authority to always lend a helping hand, especially in the area of employment,” he said.

Also speaking, the Director of the FCT Education Resource Centre, Hajiya Neemat Abdulrahman, joined other friends and well-wishers in pouring encomiums on Leramoh.

She described him as a team player, a rare leader, a jolly good fellow, and an administrator of uncommon poise and integrity who upheld punctuality and the rules that sustain institutional strength.

“His retirement brings mixed feelings for me. We thank God he is retiring strong and with honour, but I will miss him deeply. He is a seasoned administrator who is always ready to offer guidance , a specialist in drafting memos that attract approval. We will greatly miss him and will continue to call on him whenever the need arises,” she said.

In a symbolic handover of the retiree to his wife, the Director of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement (RCSI), Dr. Jumai Ahmadi, joined the couple’s hands together and urged Mrs. Kadijat Oiza Sadiq-Leramoh to take good care of her husband with love, good meals, and companionship.

Responding, Mrs. Leramoh described her husband as the best husband, father, and friend she could ever have, adding that a new phase of their blissful union has just begun.

Several other speakers, including his former boss, Mr. B.B. Abdul, described him as an inspiring, committed, dependable, resourceful, and helpful officer.

The high point of the event was the unveiling of a commemorative magazine (press clips), the cutting of the 60th birthday cake, and the presentation of a deep freezer to the distinguished retiree, Mallam Leramoh.
