Educationist Tasks Parents On Proper Upbringing Of Children

Parents and teachers have been urged to be more committed in promoting activities concerning proper upbringing of children.

Head teacher of a faith based school in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Adventist Model School, Mr.Manseh Alabura,gave the advice during the school’s Inter- House Sports event in Abuja.

Mr.Alabura, who expressed appreciation to all stakeholders at the event, extolled the commitment of parents and teachers of the school in ensuring that the children participated in all necessary activities in the school.

According to the Head teacher, apart from academic development there are other programmes of the school that were very helpful to the development of humanity.

“Our Inter-House Sports Competition was not only about physical activities but also about building character and promoting godly virtues. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 9:24, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.” This inspired our pupils to strive for excellence with determination and fairness.”

“We also reflected on the words of Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” which encouraged confidence and faith among participants.
Furthermore, the spirit of unity displayed aligns with Psalm 133:1, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.”

“This was evident in the cooperation among the houses and the support from parents and staff,
Mr. Alabura explained.”
