The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Abbas Tajudeen, says the country is on the verge of “a new dawn” as Muslims celebrate the end of Ramadan.
In his message to mark Eid al-Fitr, Dr Tajuddeen said prayers offered during the holy month could help address Nigeria’s economic, security and political challenges.
He described the peaceful completion of Ramadan as a sign of God’s mercy and urged Muslims to uphold the values of sacrifice, charity and devotion beyond the fasting period.
Dr Tajudeen also highlighted the overlap between Ramadan and the Christian season of Lent, saying it underscored a shared commitment to prayer and national unity.
The Speaker wished Muslims well for the Eid celebrations and prayed for continued peace and stability in the country.
