Public health planning expert and co-founder of Lokoja Dialogues, Mrs. Adwoa Edun, has been honoured with the African Woman of Impact Award for her work in promoting water resilience and climate action across Nigeria and other parts of Africa.
At the occasion in Abuja, Mrs. Edun expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Arise News team for the recognition and dedicated the honour to the members of the Lokoja Dialogues Team, whose collective efforts continue to spark important conversations and drive practical solutions around water access and sustainability.
She also acknowledged the commitment of professionals across the public and private sectors, as well as development partners whose support has helped advance initiatives focused on strengthening water resilience and climate adaptation.
Mrs. Edun extended special appreciation to the host communities where Lokoja Dialogues programmes are being implemented, noting that their openness, cooperation, and trust have been key to the progress made so far.

She described access to clean and sustainable water as one of the most pressing challenges in the country with reference to the rural communities.
According to her, solving the problem will require strong collaboration and shared responsibility among governments, organisations, and communities.
Mrs. Edun therefore called on policymakers, development partners, private sector actors, and other stakeholders to work together through the Lokoja Dialogues platform to develop practical and sustainable solutions that will help ensure fair and reliable access to water for everyone.
The Public health expert reaffirmed her commitment to building partnerships that will drive lasting solutions capable of transforming communities and improving lives across Africa.
