Educationist Harps On Nurturing Talents, Skills In Children

Background

Stakeholders in the education sector have been advised to help children nurture their talents and skills alongside their academic activities.

An educationist, Dr. Bamidele Arolasefe gave the advice in Abuja, at a forum aimed at developing talents of school children in sports.

Dr. Arolasefe who is the Managing Director, Safe Heritage Crest Academy said the event is not solely about winning trophies but about building character, learning to work as a team, celebrating achievements and identifying areas for improvement.

Arolasefe stressed that the event was also aimed at “developing in the pupils and students the spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship and promoting healthy competition to showcase the talents and potential in the students which has been harnessed by their teachers.”

Delivering a goodwill message, the School Administrator, Mrs. Bolanle Moses described sports as a harvest of the investment made in the students’ talents and potential, emphasizing that sports foster unity, discipline and perseverance that extends beyond the sporting field into academics and life generally.

“I encourage you to showcase your skills, exceptional sportsmanship and give the team you represent the best thereby making your passion to inspire others to succeed.”

“Kudos to the teams that goes with the trophies here today and the last team should know that failure to win today is not the end but an opportunity to rebrand and come forth stronger.”

Mrs Moses called for more policies that would encourage students to harness and utilize their potential for global competitiveness and national development.

One of the students, Nansup Nancwat said they see sports as fun aside the rigorous academic learning and an opportunity to show case their various talents.
