Information Integrity : Nigeria Explores Collaboration With Google

Nigeria is advancing discussions toward a structured strategic partnership with Google following a high-level meeting between the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar and Regional Director for Government Affairs and Public Policy (Sub-Saharan Africa) at Google, Charles Murito.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the meeting which held on Tuesday built on earlier engagements in Davos and focused on three key priorities: deepening long-term collaboration beyond infrastructure, institutionalising AI skills and knowledge transfer, including support for the Ministry’s AI Unit and exploring anticipatory diplomacy tools aimed at strengthening information integrity and democratic resilience under the Regional Partnership for Democracy.

The Ministry notes that technical teams from both sides will continue consultations to define clear, implementable outcomes at the intersection of artificial intelligence, governance, and regional stability.
