FRSC Decries Reckless Road Usage During Campaign Rallies

The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC has expressed concern over the reckless driving and poor attitude being exhibited by some motorists especially motorcyclists engaged during political campaigns and rallies across the Six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory FCT.

The FCT Sector Commander of FRSC Mr Felix Theman said the act would not be tolerated as political parties intensify their activities to meet tonight’s campaign deadline.

According to the Sector Commander, one way driving, unauthorized road block and illegal activities by some political parties on the highway contributed to the heavy traffic situation being experienced at some locations across the territory.

He urged political leaders to ensure responsible driving and discourage the drivers from intake of alcoholic drinks while driving.

Mr Theman said adequate personnel have been mobilized and deployed to some identified routes to ensure free flow of traffic as political parties prepare to end their activities at midnight today.

The FCT FRSC Sector Commander reminded road users that effective traffic management before, during and after the Area Council election must be a shared responsibility in the Federal Capital Territory..
