The Primate of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, has urged Nigerians to use this year’s Lenten season to forsake sin and genuinely reconcile with God Almighty.
Addressing the congregation during an Ash Wednesday service at the Cathedral Church of Advent, Life Camp, Abuja, Most Reverend Ndukuba said wickedness, atrocities, and corruption have become the order of the day in the country.
He urged those in positions of authority to champion a good cause and prioritise the welfare of citizens.
He described the current situation in the country as one in which the downtrodden find it difficult to survive, while some people live in affluence.
According to him, kidnapping, terrorism, corruption, and other ungodly activities have taken centre stage in the country.

The Primate passionately appealed to Nigerians to use the fasting period to seek the face of God and pray for divine intervention.
He also emphasised the need for the Federal Government to take drastic action against those perpetrating wickedness in the country.
He reminded Nigerians that God’s judgement awaits anyone who refuses to turn away from wickedness and do good to humanity.
He assured that the Church will use the forty-day Lenten period to destroy the works of the devil and pronounce permanent peace upon the country.
