Background

Two-time heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has revealed that he will return from retirement to face Arslanbek Makhmudov on 11 April, and plans to conduct his entire training camp without a trainer.

The 37-year-old said: “I don’t need a trainer, I don’t need a nutritionist, I don’t need a mind coach, I don’t need a sleep coach, and I definitely don’t need a strength coach.

He added here’s what I need in boxing: someone to wash my gum shield out, give me water between rounds, and smear Vaseline across my eyes. Leave the rest to me.”

Fury has been coached by SugarHill Steward since 2019 and he guided him to reclaim the WBC world title after two losses to Oleksandr Usyk.
At his first press conference since announcing his return in London, Fury showcased his usual showmanship, joking with Makhmudov during their face-off and declaring he wants to “make boxing great again.

Despite a 16-month break, Fury remains confident in his ability to compete at the top level and aims to win a world title in his comeback fight at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
With 34 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw in 37 career fights, Fury’s return is highly anticipated by fans eager to see the charismatic heavyweight back in action.
