Background

In a significant move to elect credible leaders ahead of the 2027 general election, Support groups across Adavi and Okehi Local Government Areas in Kogi state have thrown their weight behind the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its Adavi /Okehi House of Representatives candidate, Dr. Aisha Ibrahim Adoke (AIA).

The declaration was made after a town hall meeting in Nagazi Adavi, Kogi where groups presented what they tagged as a transformative candidate for the Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency, expressing confidence that Aisha Ibrahim Adoke has the capacity to reposition the constituency based on her track record as former MD /CEO Kogi Investment and Property Limited.

The gathering, organized by Adavi/Okehi Women and Youth Support Groups, drew stakeholders, community leaders, youths, and women groups who pledged massive grassroots mobilisation to ensure victory for the ADC in 2027, Stating that Adavi /Okehi Federal Constituency Constituency “Deserves Better”

Speaking at the event residents of the areas lamented over age long infrastructural deficit, rising youth unemployment, limited access to quality education and healthcare services in the constituency stressing that a new direction anchored on competence and grassroots connection had become imperative.

According to the support group, Adoke’s agenda focuses on infrastructural renewal, youth and women empowerment, improved healthcare and education delivery, economic growth, and inclusive representation.

“We are convinced that under the ADC platform, Aisha Ibrahim Adoke will provide purposeful leadership and ensure effective representation for our people,” the groups declared, assuring residents of sustained engagement across wards and communities.

In her acceptance speech themed “Fixing Adavi/Okehi for Today and Tomorrow: The Future—Bold Steps,” Adoke expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to deliver transformative leadership.

“My people of Adavi and Okehi Federal Constituency, we are gathered because we share a common concern and a common hope—the future of our constituency. Bridging infrastructure gap in Adavi/Okehi requires tested and result-oriented leadership.”

“My tenure as Managing Director of Kogi State Investment and Property Limited is a true testament and evidence of my administrations competence if elected.During my tenure, the agency experienced visible transformation—true development, sustained growth, and measurable progress.”

Empowering women and youths,
Ensuring meaningful federal presence in every ward. she stated;

In an interview with Journalists after the event, Johnson Joseph Uchenyo, President of FOAN for Good Governance, along side other leaders described the event as a landmark engagement designed to deepen grassroots connection and foster inclusive representation.

“We firmly believe that without the people, there can be no AIA. The strength of any leadership rests on the trust and active participation of the people,” he said. I urge constituents to rally behind “their own daughter,” Adoke is “tested and trusted,” with a proven record of competence and dedication.”

“The theme of this meeting underscores the urgency of purposeful leadership and bold steps for sustainable growth.Hon. Aisha Ibrahim Adoke has answered the call to serve, and we are confident she will exceed expectations if given the opportunity,” he added.
