Civil Servants Tasked On Diligence, Commitment To Duty

It was a joyous atmosphere as the Deputy Director New Media of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Comrade Abdulrasheed Abdulkareem was sent off in grand style after 35 years of meritorious service at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria premises.

Colleagues poured glowing encomiums on Comrade Abdulrasheed Abdulkareem who also served as the president of the Radio Nigeria Abuja Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society and General Manager, Radio Nigeria Power FM, Bida, Niger State.

Speaking during the send off, the Deputy Director, News and Current Affairs, Radio Nigeria Abuja Operations, Mr Mohammed Gbedus Abdullahi described him as a dynamic media professional who contributed his quota in promoting excellent broadcast journalism in the corporation and Nigeria in general.

Alhaji Abdullahi advised staff to be prudent in managing their resources in preparation for retirement.

In her goodwill message, Deputy Director Sports and Outside Broadcasting, FRCN Headquarters, Mrs Georgina Ekunno described the retired deputy director as a jolly good fellow, compassionate and easy going.

On his part, the Deputy Director, Sports and Outside Broadcast, Radio Nigeria Abuja Operations, Mallam Ibrahim Yahaya who went down memory lane about the achievements and commitment of Comrade Abdulrasheed Abdulkareem also advised staff to prepare ahead for their retirement.

Other members of staff described Comrade Abdulkareem as a peace loving and very supportive person irrespective of cadre, religion or trybe.

In his response, the celebrant, Comrade Abdulrasheed Abdulkareem appreciated the Management and staff of FRCN for the opportunity to serve and for the overwhelming love shown to him.

The retired Deputy Director while attributing his success to hard work and diligence, urged members of staff to be dedicated to duty as God would surely reward in due season.

The occasion had in attendance a former FCT chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and special Adviser to the governor of Kogi state, Chief Jacob Edi as well as staff from other departments of the Corporation.
