Wike To STDD Coordinator, Evacuate Apo – Karshi Refuse Immediately

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned the Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD), Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, over indiscriminate refuse dumping along the Apo–Karshi Road, describing the situation as unacceptable.

Wike issued the warning during an inspection tour of ongoing road projects along Apo – karshi part of Abuja.

Visibly displeased by the heaps of refuse littering the Apo–Karshi corridor, the Minister said the development was embarrassing and must be addressed immediately.

“If I see that refuse from Orozo down to Apo–Karshi by Monday or Tuesday, your job will be terminated,” Wike stated.

He stressed that the issue should not be handled casually, noting that development has taken over the entire area.

According to him, communities along the Apo–Karshi axis are no longer villages and should not be treated as such in terms of sanitation and environmental management.

The Minister directed the STDD to ensure the immediate evacuation of the refuse, warning that excuses would no longer be tolerated.

He reiterated that maintaining a clean environment is critical to complementing the massive road infrastructure being delivered under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
