Former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, has emphasized the need for sustained grassroots empowerment to improve living standards and strengthen community development.
Nwosu made the call in Obingwa, Abia State, at an empowerment programme organised by the member representing Obingwa West State Constituency, Mr. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr.
He said initiatives that directly support small businesses, healthcare services and youth development remain critical to economic growth at the local level.
Nwosu commended the lawmaker for what he described as practical representation, noting that people-centered projects help bridge the gap between the leadership and the grassroots.
Beneficiaries expressed optimism that the support received would improve their businesses, healthcare access and overall livelihoods.
Items distributed at the programme included vehicles, motorcycles, dialysis machines, medical equipment, laptops, business tools and financial support for constituents.
The event attracted several dignitaries, lawmakers, traditional leaders, youth and women groups, as well as residents of the constituency.
