Adeyanju Lauds PBAT’s Appointment Of Oyedepo, As DIrector Of Public Prosecutions

Human Rights Activist and Lawyer Deji Adeyanju,
has commended President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo as Director of Public Prosecutions.

This is contained in a statement signed by him in Abuja.

According to the statement, Mr. Oyedepo has demonstrated independence of the mindset that makes him well-suited for a role that sits at the heart of the rule of law.

“By entrusting such a sensitive office to a seasoned professional, the President has shown that reform of the justice sector can be driven by capacity and respect for due process.”

“This is a step in the right direction and one that, if sustained, can help restore faith in public prosecutions as a tool for justice.”

“This appointment deserves to be applauded as it is timely at a time when the justice sector needs a boost.”

‘His appointment is not a total surprise as he has demonstrated and contributed significantly his quota towards sustaining the justice sector of the economy, it added.”
