Ugwumba Leadership Centre Commits To Leadership Development Across Africa

todayDecember 9, 2025

Background

The Ugwumba Leadership Centre for Africa has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing leadership development across the continent.

President of the Centre, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, stated this when he led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the South Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. David Buom Choat, in Abuja.

He explained that the visit, which builds on an earlier engagement with the Speaker of the South Sudan House of Parliament, focused on strengthening partnership efforts in youth and women empowerment, leadership training, and skills acquisition.

Ugwumba Nwosu highlighted the Centre’s track record of impact, including the empowerment of thousands of young people and women through flagship programmes such as the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge, the U-Fund for Women, the Ugwumba Leadership Academy, and the SkillUp initiative.

He also outlined the Centre’s contributions to entrepreneurial capacity-building, the creation of start-up opportunities, leadership and governance training for emerging leaders, women’s economic advancement, and the promotion of peace, stability, and civic leadership across African communities.

According to him, the Centre looks forward to formalising the partnership as part of efforts to expand its continental footprint.

Ugwumba Nwosu added that officials from both institutions described the discussions as productive and expressed strong interest in deepening cooperation for the benefit of South Sudanese youths and the wider African region.

The President of the Centre was accompanied by the Director of Programmes, Rotarian Bibby Kala-kala; Director of Administration, Mr. Josephat Okafor; and the Head of Media, Mr. Mathew Ogu.
