As the tenure of the current National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winds down on Tuesday, the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has approved the constitution of a National Caretaker Committee to oversee its affairs pending the conduct of a national convention.
The decision was reached during the 104th NEC meeting held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Abuja.
The newly constituted 13-member Caretaker Committee is headed by Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed as Chairman, with Senator Samuel Anyanwu serving as Secretary.
Other members of the committee include the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN); National Organising Secretary, Hon. Umar M. Bature; Dr. Kyari Grema; Hon. Janguda Haruna Mohammed; Barr. Okechukwu Osuana; Senator Nwogu Olaka; Senator Sandy Onor; Prof. Adenike Ogunse; Hon. Bisi Kolawole; Engr. Deji Doherty; and Dr. Ibrahim Bala Aboki.
The NEC mandated the committee to manage the party’s affairs for 60 days, during which all outstanding congresses are expected to be concluded and a national convention conducted.
