As part of efforts to provide a robust platform for defence equipment manufacturers, policymakers and security agencies to explore emerging technologies and strengthen national security collaboration, the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria DICON, in collaboration with NISEC Expo, has announced the 2025 Nigeria Security Exhibition and Conference NISECEXPO-DICON 2025.
The event is scheduled to take place from December 8 to 10, 2025, at the National Defence College, Abuja.
Speaking at a pre-event press briefing, the Director General, of DICON Major General Babatunde Alaya, represented by
the Director of Engineering Services, Commodore Adedotun Ogundiran said the upcoming exhibition will serve as a strategic platform to showcase Nigeria’s evolving defence industrial capability while creating opportunities for investment, research partnerships and capacity development.
He noted that the exhibition, which started in 2013 but paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, has consistently promoted indigenous defence solutions and driven innovation across the sector.
The 2025 edition, he added, aligns with the mandate of the 2023 DICON Act, which empowers the corporation to regulate the defence industrial sector, promote research and engage partners for technology transfer.
The event will bring together key stakeholders, including leaders of the military and paramilitary agencies, defence manufacturers, private-sector innovators, the academia, regulatory institutions and research bodies. It will feature high-level engagements and technological showcases focused on addressing critical national and regional security priorities.
Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of NISECEXPO, Mr. Frank Ohwofa, explained that the 2025 theme, “Future Wars: Operational Resilience and Force Build-Up Capabilities,” reflects the realities of modern conflict, which now involves hybrid threats combining cyberattacks, robotics, artificial intelligence, information warfare and advanced weaponry.
He stressed that operational resilience, covering digital infrastructure protection, supply chain autonomy, human capital development and information security, has become essential as nations prepare for more complex security challenges.
He also emphasized the need for force build-up through industrial growth, technology integration and strategic global partnerships.
The 2025 exhibition will feature strategic dialogues, live demonstrations, war-gaming simulations and business engagement forums designed to convert discussions into concrete defence solutions.
Both DICON and NISECEXPO urged the global defence community to partner with Nigerian innovators and institutions, while calling on the media to provide informed and analytical coverage to support national security awareness.
NISECEXPO-DICON 2025 is expected to be a landmark gathering that will strengthen Nigeria’s defence industrialization drive and reinforce the country’s commitment to building a technologically advanced and resilient security architecture.
