2025 Abuja Continental GM’s Cup: Engineering FC Holds Holds F&B to 1-1 Draw

The Abuja Continental 2025 GM’s Cup continued as tournament favorite Food & Beverages FC (F&B) played Engineering FC to a 1-1 draw on the second matchday at the Abuja Continental Mini Stadium on Monday, November 24th.

The annual tournament, which kicked off 15 years ago, saw Engineering, brimming with confidence from a 5-2 victory against Security in their opening fixture, break the deadlock just two minutes into the game when Jerry Istifanus capitalized on the F&B defense’s lack of communication to slot in the opener, ending the first half 1-0.

F&B tried to equalize throughout the first half. They had most of the possession but failed to draw level until just two minutes remaining in the game, when Monah Itedo finished a collective team attack to give both sides a point.

The draw puts both sides on four points from two games, with Engineering sitting on top due to a superior goal difference of +3 to the +1 of F&B.

Tuesday’s fixture of the GM’s Cup, will see third-place Executive FC take on fourth placed Housekeeping FC.
