The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN wants Security Agencies to move swiftly to rescue the abducted members of the Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara state and bring the perpetrators to justice.
CAN President, Most Reverend Daniel Okoh in a statement in Abuja also called for a transparent and credible investigation to reveal how the attack happened and identify lapses in security and restore public confidence.
Most Reverend Daniel Okoh who expressed sadness over the violent attack on the church in Eruku also called for stronger security in places of worship, especially in areas repeatedly exposed to violent threats.
The CAN President, however, appealed to religious and community leaders to maintain calm and prevent any form of reprisal attacks.
“Our collective focus must remain on justice, healing and peace.”

The clergyman assured that CAN would continue to monitor developments closely and engage with authorities to ensure that the victims of Eruku attack receive justice and that Christian communities across the country are better protected.
” We stand in solidarity with the families who lost loved ones, with those injured, with the abducted and with the entire Eruku community in their moment of grief”.
“Their pain is our collective pain, and their trauma is one that no community of faith should ever be forced to endure.”
