Forum Of Former Deputy Governors Inaugurate Committee To Push RHA

The Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria has inaugurated a 14-member committee to help push President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The committee, known as the Renewed Hope Agenda Peer Review Group, was unveiled during the Forum’s General Meeting in Abuja.

National Chairman of the Forum, Dr. Chris Akomas, said the group will serve as an independent advisory body to assess and guide how effectively the Renewed Hope Agenda is being implemented across the country.

He explained that the committee’s job is to evaluate government programmes, offer evidence-based policy advice, and engage stakeholders from both the public and private sectors — all aimed at promoting accountability and good governance.

Dr. Akomas added that their recommendations would help the Federal Government channel resources more efficiently and ensure timely completion of key projects.

At the event, former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Dame Pauline Tallen, made a strong call for greater inclusion of women in governance.

She said Nigeria cannot achieve balanced development without women’s voices at the decision-making table.

“The country is walking on one leg by not fully involving women in governance, “Mr President, you have tried, but more needs to be done to make our democracy thrive.” Dame Tallen said.

Another member of the Forum, and chairman of the committee, Alhaji Isah Ozi-Salami, noted that the committee would review both the successes and shortcomings of the Renewed Hope Agenda, now in its second year, and propose ways to strengthen its impact nationwide.

Members of the committee were selected from all six geopolitical zones to ensure diverse perspectives in their evaluation.

The group’s mandate includes assessing policy implementation, offering strategic advice to the government, and encouraging citizens’ participation in governance.
