Over eighty widows and vulnerable children have received food stuffs, shoes and other items distributed by a Non Governmental Organization, NGO, VERONICA BAKOZ Charity Foundation in Lokoja.
The items, aimed at cushioning effects of the economic hardship were distributed at the official unveiling of the NGO.
Speaking during the event, the founder, Mrs Veronica Bakwo, said the Foundation was borne out of the passion and need to impact lives.
She described food as a necessity, hence the need to assist the widows and underprivileged who were facing series of societal challenges having gone through pain, discrimination and neglect.

Mrs Veronica Bakwo explained that as a widow, she understood the struggle to cater for her home, hence the need to support other widows.
According to her, ameliorating the condition of the less privileged is a national service, disclosing that the Foundation would soon go into skill acquisitions to make the widows and the less privileged self reliant.
She therefore called on government at all levels to assist in making life easy for widows and the less privileged in the society.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Ahmed Biliqisu Hayaha appreciated Mrs Veronica Bakwo for the gesture and prayed to God to guide and replenish her in hundred folds.
