The federal government has embarked on a sensitization programme for the Personnel Audit and Skills Gap Analysis PASGA projects for permanent secretaries with directors and unit heads.
At the occasion in Abuja, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Walson-Jack said this was part of the ongoing reforms to reshape the Civil Service into a stronger, smarter, and more sustainable
institution.
Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, who was represented by Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategies Office Mrs. Deborah Odoh said the PASGA Project is a strategic component of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 20212025 adding that it reflects an unwavering commitment to innovation, talent optimization, and institutional excellence, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
She said, data remains the backbone of effective planning, deployment, and decision-making stressing that, over the years, the Service has grappled with the challenge of fragmented and outdated personnel information, leading to inefficiencies and misalignments that the exercise will address.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Common Services office in the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr. Danjuma Kalba buttressed that PASGA is more than an audit-a reform tool to build a service that is data driven, merit-based, and performance oriented.
In a remark, the lead Consultant handling the project Mr. Ayo Muritala emphasized more on accountability and data integrity to define the process to inform decisions, policies, and
reforms that would stand the test of time.
According to Muritala, “This Personnel Audit and Skills Gap Analysis is not just a verification
exercise it is a strategic reform instrument designed to help the government truly understand the people who power the public service.”
It is about data, but beyond data, it is about identity, capability, and
national performance. At KNEWROW, we approach this task not as contractors fulfilling an
assignment, but as partners in building institutional legacy. ”
He added that the project will become part of the foundation upon which the future of the Nigerian Civil Service will stand.
