AFN Focused In Maintaining Internal Security, Peace- Kangye

The Armed Forces of Nigeria AFN have reiterated their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and supporting civil authorities in maintaining internal security.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, emphasized that the Armed Forces remain focused on restoring peace and stability across all regions of the country.

Speaking on the activities of troops in their various theatres of operation across the country, Major General Kangye stated that the Armed Forces remain firmly dedicated to fulfilling their constitutional duty of safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity, assisting civil authorities in upholding internal security, and promoting peace and stability in every region.

He explained that troops recorded significant successes in the fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and oil theft during the period under review.

The Director further highlighted that troops, working jointly with other security agencies, intensified nationwide operations to neutralize threats to national security and safeguard lives and property.

Major General Kangye commended Nigerians for their continuous support and urged the media to sustain objective reportage of security matters, stressing that balanced coverage strengthens public confidence and promotes national unity.

He also appealed to journalists and the general public to rely on verified information from official channels, cautioning against the spread of unverified content that could compromise ongoing operations or endanger both troops and civilians.
