Chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), Mr Mamman Nda Eri, has directed all its Commissioners to intensify mobilisation for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a directive issued to the Commissioners, Mr. Eri stressed that active participation in the CVR was crucial to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and ensuring credible elections.
He urged Commissioners to engage their constituents, sensitise communities, and encourage every eligible citizen to register and secure their Permanent Voter Card (PVC).
The KOSIEC Chairman advised the commissioners to maximise the use of social media and other digital platforms for awareness campaigns, partner with community leaders, youth groups, religious bodies, and civil society organisations to deepen grassroots outreach.
He also charged the commissioners to provide regular feedback on mobilisation activities, challenges, and possible solutions.
Mr. Eri emphasised that voter registration is a civic responsibility that must be pursued with urgency, adding that inclusiveness in the electoral process was key to building stronger democratic institutions.
