NAWOJ Urges Kogi Women to Register, Collect PVCs

todaySeptember 3, 2025

Background

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kogi State Chapter, has appealed to women across the state to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Chairperson of the Association, Comrade Stella Edoka made the call in a statement in Lokoja.

She explained that women’s participation in the electoral process was vital to ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making and community development.

According to her, the PVC was not just a voting tool
but a powerful instrument for change and empowerment.

She stated that women can influence leadership choices and policies in critical areas such as education, healthcare, and economic empowerment with their PVCs.

The NAWOJ Chairperson stressed that active political participation was key to achieving gender balance in governance, adding that every PVC collected represents a stronger voice, a brighter opportunity, and a decisive step towards sustainable development in Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
