todayAugust 27, 2025

Background

Kogi State Government has launched the distribution of Five Thousand Health Data Tools for Public and Private Hospitals across the State.

The initiative is a proactive step by the Government to ensure effective health record-keeping for every service provided in health institutions.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at the launching emphasized that the Health Data Tools initiative is a crucial component of his administration’s efforts to address pressing challenges in the health sector.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Health, Doctor Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, the Governor maintained that the data tools were standardized national documents put to use by health facilities in the country for accurate documentation of health data.

Governor Ododo explained that the State Ministry of Health has taken the initiative to produce the standardized template from the National Health Data Tools aimed at enhancing the reporting rate of health data to the national platform.

He noted that his administration is committed to making the Health Data Tools available, marking a pioneering effort in the state to systematically collect and utilize data from every health centre and institution.

The State Director of Health Research, Statistics, and Documentation, Mr. Johnson Ayedogbon thanked the State Government for the achievements so far recorded in the health sector.

While explaining the Government’s commitment to ensuring the availability of the Data Tools, Mr Ayedogbon advocated strict adherence to its usage by all health facilities in the state.

He also stressed that updating the data records would be part of the Ministry’s criteria for license renewal for the private health practitioners in the state.
