The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has appealed to eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the ongoing online Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to register.
Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, for Kogi State, Dr. Oliver Tersoo Agundu, made the call in Lokoja during the presentation of the Certificate of Return to the winner of the August sixteenth by-election for Dekina II Okura State Constituency, Mr Hassan Shado.
Dr. Agundu disclosed that while the online registration is currently ongoing, physical in-person registration will commence on August twenty- fifth across all twenty – one local government areas of the state as well as the INEC’s head office in Lokoja.
He urged citizens who have just attained the age of eighteen and those who have never registered to seize the opportunity to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to participate in upcoming elections.

While reaffirming INEC’s commitment to conducting free, fair, transparent, and inclusive elections, the REC congratulated the winner of the by-election, charging him to be magnanimous in victory and to serve as a true representative of his constituents.
Dr. Agundu further advised political actors to always seek democratic and legal means of addressing grievances, stressing that such an approach remains vital to strengthening the nation’s democratic process.
