FCT : 4 Members Of Robbery Gang Arrested In Gwagwalada

Four of the six members of a robbery gang terrorizing residents of Old Kutunku and Kaida Village in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT have been arrested by a Vigilante group and handed over to the Gwagwalada Divisional Police Headquarters.

The gang had been operating in the area with impunity, unleashing terror on the residents especially along the Old Kutunku – Kaida road.

Before their arrest, they had stolen a motorcycle belonging to one Yusuf Mai Gemu at Kaida Village about three weeks ago, and went back for the second time to rob him of the new motorcycle he bought following the first incident, during which they inflicted serious injuries on the victim with machetes and other weapons.

The victim was thereby rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, where he was admitted and treated for the wounds.

A combined team of Vigilante at Old Kutunku therefore mobilized and succeeded in arresting four of the suspects, including the neighbor of the Victim who confessed to being the informant of the robbery gang.

The suspects include, Bingel Shaho, Bodo, Yellow, and Bokolo while the other two, Sani Bangis and Smally are now at large.

The Victim, Yusuf Gemu called on security agents to redouble their efforts at curbing criminals activities especially motorcycle snatching in the area.

When contacted, the Divisional Police officer declined comments, saying investigations are still on going.
