Rwanda Launches 2050 knowledge-based economy Goals

The Republic of Rwanda has unveiled its plans to become an upper-middle-income country by 2035 and a high-income, knowledge-based economy by 2050.

Rwanda’s Vision 2050 aims to transform the nation into a globally competitive, knowledge-based economy, with the goal of becoming an upper middle-income country by 2035 and a high-income country by 2050.

This vision includes transitioning from an agricultural-based economy to one focused on knowledge and technology, with a strong emphasis on digital literacy, innovation, and a skilled workforce

The Rwanda High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Christophe Bazivamo made this known in Abuja, at the 31st anniversary of Rwanda’s Liberation Day, ”Kwibohora”.

Rwanda Launches 2050 knowledge-based economy GoalsInline with this the Ambassador confirmed that the country is open, welcoming, and secure.

”In fact All African citizens enter visa free in Rwanda, the same for Commonwealth and Francophonie countries, while other nationalities get visa on arrival.”

Our clean cities, our progress in universal healthcare coverage, our status as one of the most business-friendly nations are not miracles, he said.

Ambassador Bazivamo who said the event marked a date engraved in the soul of every Rwandan, noted that on July 4th, 1994, the genocide against the Tutsi was halted by the Rwandan Patriotic Army.

”But our liberation was not just the end of the carnage, it was the beginning of something deeper, it was the reclamation of our dignity,”We reclaimed not just our country, but truth, not just peace, but purpose.

According to him, ”Liberation was a moral imperative, an affirmation that no Rwandans would ever again be made to feel like strangers in their own country, and that journey toward dignity, justice, and national self-worth is far from over.”

Ambassador Christophe Bazivamo who observed that the struggle for dignity did not end in 1994, said it includes governance, how people treat one another, and how the society is built.

”The last 31 years have been a testament to this resolve, we stand as a testament to what is possible when a people choose Unity, Dignity and Purpose.”

Rwanda Launches 2050 knowledge-based economy Goals”Liberation taught us that true progress cannot be outsourced, it must be owned and sustained by citizens themselves, guided by the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Paul Kagame, Rwanda has embraced this principle,” Ambassador Bazivamo said. 

The Ambassador used the occasion to appreciate  the government and  people of Nigeria for the warm hospitality that has made the country a true second home for Rwandans.

The highpoint of the event was the yearly Raffle draw sponsored by RwandAir Limited the flag carrier airline of Rwanda, as part of activity to honour the heroes who paved the way ,

Two people won the Economy tickets to Rwanda while about six other person left the event with consolation gifts.

This years event also include cultural events, and military parades, the diplomatic community were all thrilled as the event unfolds.
