FCT: Sunday Abraham Emerges ADC Councillorship Candidate For Quarters Ward

todayJune 28, 2025

Background

African Democratic Congress, ADC, has declared Mr Sunday Abraham as the Party’s flag bearer for the Quarters Ward Councillorship election in Gwagwalada Area Council during the forthcoming FCT Area Council poll.

Affirming the Councillorship primaries election for the Quarters Ward in Gwagwalada Abuja, the Returning Officer, Zakari Jiya Ibraheem said Mr Sunday Abraham emerged unopposed.

Zakari Jiya Ibraheem stated that other aspirants stepped down for Mr. Sunday Abraham due to his experience and competency to deliver the Party during the 2026 FCT Area Council election.

An Official of the Independent National Electoral Committee, INEC, Mr Ayuba Peter, who monitored the primaries, described the exercise as free, fair and credible.

In his acceptance speech, the ADC Councillorship Candidate for Quarters Ward, Mr Sunday Abraham thanked members of the Party for giving him the mandate and promised to embark on more projects that would improve the well-being of electorates in the area if elected in next year’s election.

“I am very happy and grateful to them and I’m assuming every one of them that I will not fail them in this noble course and it has been a while that we’ve been working together in Quarters Ward and they know my capacity and what I can do when it comes to the well-being of the people” he stated.

While soliciting the support of electorates before, during and after the election, Mr Sunday Abraham advised them to shun money politics and ensure the emergence of credible leaders during the 2026 FCT Area Council election.

“As we’re preparing for the FCT Area Council election, I want to tell the electorates to support and vote for me during the poll because in Quarters Ward we believe in the best and I’ve been running free medical outreach for people in the Ward and I’m going to do more by facing the widows and orphans through various programmes that would better their lots when I emerge next year in the election” the ADC Councillorship Candidate added.

Officers of the Department of State Security Service, DSS, were also on ground to monitor and ensure the peaceful conduct of the primaries.
