The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, citing significant achievements in economic revitalization, social welfare, security, and national development.
According to a statement in Abuja by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu made the remarks at the inauguration of over 20,000 new members of the Renewed Hope Partners in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to Kalu, the agenda is not just a slogan but a comprehensive blue print for Nigeria’s progress.
He highlighted notable achievements, including a 3.84% GDP growth in Q4 2024 and a drop in inflation from 34.6% to 23.71% by May 2025.
The Deputy Speaker also mentioned the unification of the FX market, reduction in arbitrage, and boost in investor confidence. He noted that Nigeria’s trade surplus reached N3.42 trillion ($2.25 billion) in Q4 2024, driven by increased exports.
Kalu emphasized the importance of the Renewed Hope Agenda in delivering tangible results, including the launch of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) with over N200 billion in funding.
He urged the newly inaugurated members to play a crucial role in sustaining the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda and carrying the message of progress to every community.
The Deputy Speaker also highlighted the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund, which supports transformative projects, including over 260 new road projects worth N208 billion.
He emphasized the importance of unity and inclusion in national development, calling on Nigerians to work together to build a prosperous future.
