Review Security Strategies Constantly- Ndukuba Urges FG

todayMay 31, 2025

Background

The Primate, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba has called for constant review of security strategies to address resurgence and regrouping of insurgency in the country.

Addressing the Twelfth Synod of Abuja Diocese with the Theme “Serve The Lord” Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba said insurgency and banditry have continued to disrupt economic activities, agricultural and mining sectors resulting in decreasing productivity, loss of revenue and increased poverty.

According to him, if the current trend is not checked, it will be difficult for farmers to engage in agricultural activities that will have an effect on the nation.

He stressed the need for the government to expose the sponsors and suppliers of weapons and ammunition.

On the economy, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba expressed concerns over the high cost of goods and services, emphasizing that the government palliatives are not getting to the down troden in the society.

According to the Anglican Primate, the palliative distribution is characterized by corruption and nepotism.

He maintained that the current hyper inflation is bitting hard on citizens and making lives more difficult for the people.

He therefore appealed to President Bola Tinubu to review the country’s trade policies inline with the current global realities.

Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba commended President Bola Tinubu”s procurement Policy calling om Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies as well as stakeholders to fully comply as it will create employment and reduce pressure on the foreign reserves.

Over Forty delegates from Nine Arcdeaconries of the Abuja Diocese are attending the synod holding at Saint Phillips Anglican Church GWARINPA Estate Abuja.
