CWOAA Commends Tinubu’s Action Plan To Combat Violence Against Children 

The Catholic Women Organization Abuja Archdiocese (CWOAA) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for launching the National Plan of Action 2024-2030 to combat violence against children.

In a statement, President of the Organization Mrs.Ebele Lilian Okoye described President Tinubu’s gesture as a landmark initiative and a testament to the government’s commitment to protecting the most innocent and vulnerable members of the society who are children.

The statement explains that according to the teachings of the Catholic Church, the family is the sacred foundation of the society and children, gifts entrusted to mankind by God.

To this end, the statement says they represent purity, hope, and the promise of a brighter future.

According to the statement, to protect and nurture them is, therefore, not just a duty but a moral imperative.

“This Plan of Action aligns with the core values of our faith which are love, compassion, and the inherent dignity of every child. It reaffirms that as a nation,we must stand united in ensuring that no child suffers abuse, neglect or violence. ”

Government agencies, faith-based organizations, and all stakeholders to uphold the sanctity of family life and child protection. ”

“Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, we will continue to strengthen efforts that safeguard our Children and empower families to build nurturing homes rooted in love and security”.

Mrs Okoye appreciated the leadership of Mr. President and the Minister of Women Affairs Hon. Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim for prioritizing this noble cause.
