Cleric Tasks Christian Mothers On Building Godly Homes

todayMay 11, 2025

Background

The Minister in charge of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami has advised christian mothers to be committed to building Godly homes for the betterment of the society.

In his sermon titled ‘Mothers As Home Builders ” to mark the Church’s Annual Mother’s Day celebration today in Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami described mothers as home builders hence the need for them to always live up to their expectations.

Taking his bible reading from the book of Proverbs chapter 4 verse 1, the Baptist Cleric also admonished them to dedicate quality time to the upbringing of their children.

This year’s Mother’s Day theme which is “Mothers As Home Builders” is very relevant to all christian mothers because mothers are wise women who are using their wisdom, creativity, industriousness to create an atmosphere of peace, love and advancement in the home by making sure that everyone in the home is satisfied and well taken care of and that is why they’re mostly referred to as organizers, instructors and planners of the home hence the need for them to always obey the teachings of the bible towards building Godly homes “.

While urging christian mothers not to allow the current economic situation of the country to affect their family and spiritual life, Reverend Deji Oyelami stressed the need for them to be steadfast in faith and prayers towards overcoming all challenges.

My message to all christian mothers most especially in the Baptist family is in accordance with the scripture that says wise women build their homes, therefore they should always endeavour to partner with their husbands in the day to day upbringing and training of their children.

“A wise woman doesn’t waste money and resources but rather invest them into her ministry for the glory of God and family ” Reverend Deji Oyelami emphasized.

Earlier, the President of Women Missionary Union of the Church, Mrs Helen Monehin said the annual Mother’s Day celebration was to appreciate mothers and remind them of their responsibilities in christiandom.

Mrs Helen Monehin also enjoined members of WMU of the Church to always emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ in their day to day activities and be committed to the service of God and humanity.

Some Mothers and members of the Women Missionary Union, WMU, of the Church, Mrs Naomi Adelabu and Olayemi Ayoola expressed gratitude to God for witnessing another Mother’s Day celebration.

While wishing other Mothers a happy celebration, they prayed God to grant all mothers divine wisdom and knowledge to succeed in their homes.

Highpoints of the Mother’s Day celebration were the Royal Ambassadors and Girls Auxillary special parade, a talk show and presentation of gifts as well as prayers for Mothers
