We Are Delivering First-Class Infrastructure To FCT Residents – Wike

todayMay 10, 2025

Background

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Nyesom Wike, has affirmed that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fulfilling its promise to deliver first-class infrastructure to residents of Abuja.

Speaking during an inspection of ongoing projects at the Gishiri and Apo-Wassa axis, Dr. Wike lauded the significant progress made on several key road projects ahead of President Tinubu’s second-year anniversary in office.

He explained that the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration is the driving force behind the numerous infrastructure projects across the FCT and emphasized that the government is focused on improving the quality of life for citizens.

Wike hinted that concerted efforts were ongoing to further boost infrastructure and social services for satellite town dwellers.

According to Wike, the FCT is set to showcase a robust array of completed projects, symbolizing the administration’s commitment to development and good governance.

“What makes us happy is when the people are happy. Leadership is a major issue. When you have the right leadership, people will benefit from it.

Mr. President has shown he is willing to change and provide happiness for the people. The Renewed Hope Agenda is working.”

“We are going to provide water for satellite towns in Bwari, Karu, Kubwa, and more. Roads, school renovations, and improved security are also part of the plan,” he assured.

According to the Minister, a comprehensive list of projects to be inaugurated for the second anniversary is being finalized.

Notable among them are the Gishiri road, the OSEX-Wassa link, the International Conference Center, the M5 corridor being executed by Julius Berger, and the Abuja Greater Water Project.

The Minister, who also used the medium to task residents on the need to cultivate a maintenance culture toward enhancing the sustainability of public assets, pledged the FCTA’s readiness to ensure the protection and longevity of completed projects.

People should protect what belongs to them. It is not easy to build, but it is easy to destroy,” he stated.
