The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Nyesom Wike, has assured residents of the administration’s commitment to provision of essential infrastructure, especially access to potable water, to satellite towns within the territory.
Speaking during an inspection of ongoing projects in the Gishiri and Apo-Wassa axis, Dr. Wike disclosed that plans are underway to provide sustainable water to underserved communities in areas such as Bwari, Karu, and Kubwa.
“We are going to provide water for satellite towns in Bwari, Karu, Kubwa, and more, people will be happy. It’s part of our broader effort to improve the quality of life for all residents of the FCT, not just those in the city centre.”
He emphasized that these efforts are part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes inclusive development and the equitable distribution of infrastructure.
The Minister also used the opportunity to appeal to residents to develop a strong maintenance culture to safeguard public assets.

He stressed that the sustainability of government projects depends largely on the cooperation and sense of ownership exhibited by the people.
“People should protect what belongs to them. It is not easy to build, but it is easy to destroy. We want residents to understand that these facilities are for their benefit. Therefore, vigilance and community responsibility are crucial.”
Wike reiterated that the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) remains committed to protecting and sustaining completed infrastructure, promising continued investments in both urban and rural communities.
He noted that several landmark projects, including roads, schools, and water facilities ,will be commissioned as part of activities marking President Tinubu’s second-year anniversary, symbolizing the administration’s dedication to development and good governance.
