Women Affairs Ministry Partners Royal Ambassadors To End Gender Inequality

Ministry of Women Affairs has called on stakeholders to create an enabling environment to give youths and women a voice in decision making across the nation.

The Minister, Hajia Imman Suleiman Ibrahim made the call in Abuja at the opening ceremony of a three day conference of some Non Governmental Organization, the Royal Ambassadors Family Enlightenment Foundation, Green Revolution Farmers Feed the Nation and Young Women Rise Empowerment in Abuja.

Represented by a Director in the Ministers Office, Mrs. Ola Folami, the Minister who noted that the ministry has made huge progress in promoting gender equality, noted that empowering women and youths is crucial to the development of the nation.

She encouraged women to participate in decision making to bridge the gender inequality gap as well as promote good governance.

The convener of the programme, Mr. Jonathan Okwudiri, who pledged total support of the NGO’s to the unity and progress of the nation, stated that the foundation has mobilized about one million women and youths in skills acquisition

Mr. Jonathan Okwudiri urged other well-meaning Nigerians to evolve employment initiatives, especially in agriculture, to help take the country out of food insecurity.

He noted that the conference was aimed at brainstorming on how to move the nation forward, noting that it is a testament of the power of unity.

A Board of Trustee member of the NGO, Precious Adannaya, said the group was formed to ensure that the rights of women are not trampled upon.

Highpoint of the event was the inauguration of the executive members to manage the affairs of the group.
